A china company actually stole the Singapore Video produced by Channel 8 done for GFK and put on their own website as if its their video to promote their copied product!!! How shameless!!!

The product they copied is Pro III....disgusting... they even have the cheek to put 2 more video clips from GFK with their own company website being watermarked onto the video claiming they are the owner.

One of the video they stole was when GFK did an exhibition at SUNTEC BlueSky Festival 2005 by Action Community For Entrepreneurship (ACE) and the other clip they stole was GFK participation at the 2005 NDP Celebration at the Marina South Carnival...

        Stolen Video Clip 1

        Stolen Video Clip 2

They even claimed that they are the FIRST RC Kites in the world...how can they do such despicable acts.

These are done first by Singaporeans, something I can (if not, we can all) feel proud to tell the story. But now, somebody from somewhere else making such false claims...Can we as Singaporeans each do something to bring back the glory to ourselves?

I am very pissed about such acts....
        Spirit High...Flying High...

Thanks to these RC Kites... My nights are not boring anymore...You gave me a NIGHT LIFE in Singapore!

Something to be really proud of being part of a great family!!!

            “IFO” “RC KITE”

            Who steal whose?

            Who is original?

If by changing names is innovation what is the BIG FUSS over the china video clips.

Guys, i think there are many of the people out there do not understand the meaning of innovation.

              in·no·va·tion n.

              1. The act of introducing something new.
              2. Something newly introduced.

              innovate

              v. : bring something new to an environment

Yes, indeed, IFO was first in the market in 1998, but IFO if you know, they have not use LEDs lights to fly their slow flyers (what they called themselves). Even until now, Wild RC has never introduced LED lightings to their planes. If you read and understand the meaning of innovation and innovate, it was a Singaporean who added lights and brought us the night flying capability to RC flying on these light-weight, kite-liked models. I think that's very clever and although simple, how many people actually thought of it? Even if anyone of you said it's so simple and easy to do, why didn't you create this new flying capability and new toy and put them to good use by creating a business out of it?

Personally, I think this is something really amazing about this creation. It has actually brought so much fun, laughters and enjoyment to RC flying in the night.

And right now, if you realised, these RC Kites in the market has so many designs and models. That makes all the difference whether it is still an IFO or RC Kite. Friends, I think there must be a way to differential which product is which. In the first place, Wild RC did not claim and will not be the standard of these flying models.

Another very simple example. I am sure all of you know the car called Model-T by Henry Ford.

"The Ford Model T (colloquially known as the Tin Lizzie and the Flivver) was an automobile produced by Henry Ford's Ford Motor Company from 1908 through 1927. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile, the car which "put America on wheels"; this was due to some of Ford's innovations, including assembly line production instead of individual hand crafting, as well as the concept of paying the workers a wage proportionate to the cost of the car, so that they would provide a ready made market. The first production Model T was built on September 27, 1908 at the Piquette Plant in Detroit, Michigan. Cars built before 1919 are classed as veteran cars and later models as vintage cars." (extracted from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

But now, how many car manufacturers calling their own car models with so many beautiful names...Hope you guys know what I mean by now...we can't be calling all the cars on the road The Model T... Hahaha...I personallly ask myself at this point, why do people just don't get it.

GFK, I am all behind you guys!! Well done for bringing us a new way of flying these kites!!!
              Spirit High...Flying High...

I had deleted an earlier posting. The reply likely to trigger another round of heat exchange as it contain relation of object to personal matter.

I am not sure why the discussion about this GFK / Ace Hobby and That Hobby Shop "innovation" kept surfacing periodically.

We do not wish to engage unnecessary in this matter as its hurts everytime this is brought up.

I would like to direct whoever interested to pursue the matter here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...=ifo+singapore

Hi mike.. well its the bcos of the product frm china... well its sad that its happening again, i believe the cycle has repeated its self.. wat i ahve written its only to seprate the issue of orgin, inovation n copy rite..the issue has or is never abt either gfk nor ace hobby or TH. i believe i have written facts that we can sure use, not sure y u have deleted the msg which i believe its not fair as in this era is abt info n discussion. pls do expalin. if froums does not allow discuaaion wats teh forum for when everything is under the watchful eyes of the admin?
the discussion is to bring out the laws of company in rites n product.
its also abt the quality of product n services...
States gives the rite to discuss all issue.. even in the net.. why not this forum?

Oh, thanks HZM. I have not seen this forum and thread before. After reading it, I can understand why Singaporeans are so adverse when I mention about being original on this issue. I would like to share something here, hope that this will take away some hard feelings for some and clear the air.

Becos' when I learn how to fly at GFK, I got a chance to interact with the people there. And they actually shared and told me some history about these RC kites, which explains why my passion now. The news article that mentioned in the RCGroups.com Forum was actually forwarded to the creator of IFO. From what I gathered from the forum. But sad to say, the person mentioned in the news article was not the owner of GFK. I wouldn't want to say who was it. Too sensitive. So over time, when info lost and new comers and people who came to know about it later might think that GFK is the one who got featured in that article.

Because of this misunderstanding, I felt all the more I should stand up for GFK and the people there. This issue seemed to get some people really upset. Frankly, because I knew the story, that's why I am not ashame even after reading the forum at RCGroups.com. Cos' I have read that article featuring the other person who made the claim before so I know for sure GFK is not guilty of it.

Hope the air is clearer now...

Until the day you have legal rights to something it ain't yours. The fact is that some people want claim the credit for creating something when that is not the case is just not right either. But I seem to believe that someone here has a hidden agenda and by repeatedly bring up very vigorous contested topic about the IFO kinda proves my assumptions. All I can say is, let everyone who wants to enjoy the sport, do it in a way they please and not attempt to influence others and stir a s**t fest up for their own personal interest.
