make your own, self powered simulator by taking a model helicopter, toy helicopter etc and holding it in fron tof you with you left hand. Then imagine it's a RC toy

move imaginary sticks with you thumbs and make the heli move correspondingly with the hand that's holding it.

I realise it sounds damn cock, but it's quite fun. Guess it also gets you used to the stick movements you need for doing new stuff.

Dont get too stress about flying nose in. It's not a big deal,it's an easy, basic thing to do with any rc toy, so keep yourself thinking that way and don't put up any mental barriers about it as that'll only make things harder on yourself.

By the way if you dont have a nice small toy heli around you can make one from paper.

hi there, welcome to daddyhobby. i'm also a teen like you, but my raptor's been down for a while, pending new crystal. anyway, i was practicing on G2 these few days and learnt something. at first, i thought that i could simply correct the heli in the direction it was moving. eg, if it was drifting right, apply right aileron, and fly the tail, not the head. this is the way some people fly.

however, i found it easier if you just imagine you're inside the heli and fly it that way. this way, you can do it inverted and nose in, no problem. will take some time getting used to, but its a skill you won't lose easily... do you intend to try electrics or nitro? anything you just ask...

haha reminds me of when i was in upper sec and JC , at least RC stuff isn't too expensive relatively.

I was saving up to maintain my bicycles...

imagine $700 suspension forks and pedals that could buy you a feda, and to take part in a miserable race was something like 30 bucks !

At one stage i didnt even eat in school haha , brought biscuits/sandwiches along from home.

Saved up lots that way though. And is probably why i was pretty skinny at one stage.

I was very lucky my parents for some reason actually used to sponsor my RC interests, though then i was more interested in flying my bicycles than flying toy planes or racing rc cars much....

If only they'd subsidise a hornet or an eco8 now argh !
