    Monster Truck Savage

    Hi guys
Plan to get a Monster Truck that runs on Nitro, any suggestion?
The HPI Savage 25 looks good and the price in Hong Kong is around S$600.00. So is it cheaper in SG or in HK? The MT2 and Traxxas - Maxx looks like an over-size Stadium Truck. So any good MT to recommend before I buy one? Thanks.

Savage 25 kit is about $680 here so unless someone's bringing one back for you, it's not worth it.

      Revo's worth considering.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.

          New Savage Kit

          Thanks guys
I just heard the new Savage Kit is out in State and it will be avaliable soon in Asia!
Does the Savage 25 comes pre- assemble or wat and comes with wat package? If it's $680.00 I think I'll get it in Singapore.
As for Revo, how much is it?
          Cheers

Savage comes as a kit or RTR. The $680 one is a kit, meaning you'll need to assemble it and get your own Radio set and servoes.

Here's a brief history of Savage. When it first came out, it's called Savage 21 coz it's equipped with a .21 engine. Being a fat and heavy lady, a .21 engine is painfully underpowered. The stock T-Maxx will run rings around it.

Then they came out with Savage 25. Naturally with a .25 engine. Well, while much powerful than the .21 engine, it's only 'adequate', from what I've heard and seen from Savage 25 owners.

So now they came out with Savage 4.6! Well, we are into number games here. Lest you think this engine is almost 2x the .25, the 4.6's engine is only a .28 engine! You see, engine capacity is usually measured in cu in. It is less commonly measured in cc, so a 4.6cc engine is also a .28cu in engine! Get it?

            Cheers!

              Ok

              Ok, I get it.
I guess even with the .25 engine is still not tat good enough because of it's weight. I will get others then.
              Thanks

Wah....you don't buy just because of the engine and weight? It's a very good MT and tough too.

                  Savage

Ok, I will go down and have a look tomorrow. I am still in Hong Kong, I hope I can get a good rate from here. Too many to choose from and it's really making me very confused.

I guess you're well acquainted with Kwong Wa Street now!

OK, Traxxas Revo is $980 here, RTR.

                      Yes

                      Yes Mad Armour
I have been to Kwong Wa Street a few times during my stay here. Guess I will be going there again tomorrow.
They have a few great racing trucks here in Hong Kong and there's competition every week.
Wait till I get mine and polish up my control. Will join them for some racing.

If you tune it probably the .25 engine can be pretty powerful. Mine was tuned by the previous owner, infacts I got to rich it abit since the front lifted up too often.

Power...there's no end to it! better to be a bit rich than too lean.

Hmmm so this shop must be your frequent shopping area???

I cannot remember if this is the shop at Kwong Wah st, but it's near Liberty Avenue.

I was so diasppointed when I went there coz they told me that they no longer carry plane and heli stuff....I saw one of the first few Revos in this shop...but was too large & heavy for me to carry it back coz I was on a business trip.

Their prices are pretty decent comparing to US mail order & local prices.

Too many shops there to remember liow! But I definitely saw 2 heli shops there. Not much Raptor stuff at that shop, though. Bought my GY240 from there, $135.

But agree there are more car stuffs than heli/plane there. Maybe these shops are located elsewhere. For some reason, EP there are much cheaper compared to GP.
