motor automatically stop but servos still can use

    hi

I am usign a 400 speed motor, with gws ICS 480, running on 2 cell li-po. When i am testing it, i full throttle for 1 minutes, then the motor totally stop.

After moving throttle stick up and down, the motor start again. But cut off frequent.

Any idea what went wrong ?
Plane need plasters too. Coz they injure too, just like human

check your lipo, they might not be withstanding the amp draw resulting in high voltage drop which will cause the lvc to come in and cut the motor

does it just happen on one pack or other packs?if it is just one pack, probably it is about time to retire that pack, if it is the whole lot, check if you are overproping

i tried it with 1 li-po, and 2 litium-ion. Then all has this problem but my GWS ni-mh is perfectly alright.

the li-pi and ion batt were given to be my my friend who claim to be quite new.

another friend told me, most probably i over prop it. As i was testing the full throttle with li-po.

it can throttle at much higher speed with a 8 cell ni-mh, even at 3/4 stick...

if i am not wrong the lvc for ics480 is 4.2v or so, if you apply a very large load to the 7.4v lipo, most probably it might drop below the 4.2vmark which will cause the lvc to kick in, but then I think still it might be good to check your lipo, I have push my 6c capable only 1050 cells to give 10amp and they still do not cause the ics300/480 to cut off at wot.

8cell=9.6v, 2s lipo=7.4v, 3s=11.1v, I believe you are using 2s?if that is the case then of course slower lah...

i jsut tried it with my 7 cells ni-mh. the same problem....

but for lipo the maximiun i can throttle is 3/4 stick. anything more, power drop to zero.

So, what should i do ? get a bitter ESC? change to a smaller motor?

how do u reduce prop size ?

pleae enlighten by telling me what is prop ?

i not sure whether the problem lie in me or the electronic. i tried every battery, then tried this 9.6(8-cells) full throttle. The power is great very greeat, but it will stop power after 2 minute.

So i wonder do u guy puch throttle all the way, when u fly a 400eps motor?

                      simple question need answers.

                      what motor?
what is the size of your propeller? example: 10x7?
does it have a gear box?
                      what is the gear ratio.
most important of all what plane.

answer this and we can advise you why its happening.

                      cheers

                        Prop is short for propellor.

If all things remains the same, reducing prop size = reduce load = reduce current draw = longer playtime.

But in your case 8 cell nimh = 2 min , 7 cell and lipo/lon cut off very quickly, means current draw too high. By reducing your prop size, u will have better duration. (Assuming your stuff are in good working order)

                        Cheers

                        James
