Dear All, I recieved this mail from the Chairmman of Ponggol CC....



Was good meeting on Sat at Bedok Reservoir. The crowd was thrilled at the flypast and sailpast.

I chair the Punggol CC Management Committee. Together with my volunteers, we are keen to develop interest groups at the CC as a modern way to engage residents in community activities. One of the activities I am keen to develop is the RC sport.

Punggol CC serves the Bedok Reservoir - Punggol division of the Aljunied GRC. We have the field next to the Punggol CC as well as the Punggol Pond and Bedok Reservoir to facilitate our activities.

What we an provide at the CC is community support for your RC activity. For example, we can host competitions and (fee-based) preparation classes for both children and adults. We can hold a family class to introduce them to the sport.

What we need will be a core volunteer group to champion the RC sport.

Would you be interested to rally some people to start a discussion on how we can develop this at Punggol CC?


Dear All,
Ponggol CC is interested in promoting RC hobbys to its residence and they are asking if we would be interested in contributing to the cause.
Shall we discuss this at our next get together on Saturday?

For your info, we are forming a interest group for Punggol area with the Punggol GRC, here are some of our recent photos:

Perhaps you guys can take care of Bedok & Tampines side?

In future I hope Aeromodelling and RC activities will progress to the next level and have MEGAmeets since many of us have missed such event for a long time liao.

As long as there are key folks to assist new flyers and safety guidelines,
I believe respective CC from different locations will give their support.

Not to forget & once again thank some folks like LeonLio, Chekgu, Joe Yap, Dennis Chia, Kheng Peng etc... who helped speak to the Rangers and Authority of Bedok Reservior last year & negotiate through concerning flying at the Bedok Reservior that makes this day come through.

Good news, but I'm confused. Apart from Punggol pond, Bedok Reservoir and the field beside it, how far does the area they are in-charge go? Do they deal with Npark and PUB regarding the use of Bedok Reservoir vacinity?

If they can support us to form the BR slope soaring club, that'll be great. But who do we go to ultimately regarding forming interest groups like these? There seems to be a lot of parallel arrangements.
