    GWS Lithium Polymer Batteries

HEllo, MERRY CHRISTMAS to EVERYONE Surfing. Can anyone advise whether the GWS Lithium Polymer Batteries
(GWS 2 Cells, 8.4V (max) 7.4V (nominal), 1050mAh, discharge rate 6C, 63x37x10mm, weight 47grams), can be use directly plug into the receiver instead of using 4AA batteries to control the servo as use on glider. How about the current drainage and duration.
    THANKS

    8.4v Lipo

Don't connect direct 2S lipo to your Rx.
You will burn the Rx, unless the Rx has built in BEC.

    most micro Rx wihout BEC.

    Thanks

            Rx

            Mach sells the 5ch Rx
72 Mhz with a pair of Xtal for $45.

If you fly electric, your ESC with BEC will provide the 5v supply for the Rx.

I have an old Rx 29 mhz Futaba and Sanwa with BEC built in as indicated on the Rx casing. Used to connect 7.2v direct. Those old day no Lipo 8.4v

            Thanks

fixing esc and lipo on glider

well, might try using feigao reciever with GWS esc 300 and 7.4v GWS lipo in the glider .Think these compo still lghter then 4AA batteries.

                Battery duration flying time!

I wonder with 4AA batteries or ESC+lipo, which is more endurance?

                  Lipo 8.4v for glider

Yes, that is what I have on my glider.
                  GWS ICS-50 ESC
                  2 Micro servo
                  4 ch Rx
                  2S 700mah lipo.

If you are not sharing Freq, you can fly the whole afternoon till your Tx low voltage beep you.

                      Hi Thong,

DON'T try direct plugging the Feigao, coz CONFIRMED it has no BEC..
Get a ICS-50 or an even cheaper ESC with BEC if u can find to save wt for ur glider.

Anyway, when they say slow discharge for li-ion..
Probably means the li-ion is a low discharge pack..
                      I'm guessing since it's li-ion and not li-poly, it's discharge is
somewhere from 3c to 6c.. that is slow as opposed to the new
generation which are 10c to 12c discharge rate..

How long u can fly on a pack it not based on what the discharge rate is..
but is rather based on how much current u draw from the pack
when flying, the lower u draw, the longer the pack last..

                      Hope it helps!

thong if u have a feigao rx and u plug in everything and it does not work do not need to be so worried.just take a small screw driver and on the switch in the rx.the switch is near the hole for the crystal at the top.

                            Feigao RX

ya, talking about the feigao rx, i comes across some problem.
                            1. the servo screeches when i plug in the battery.Mybe interference.
                            2. when moving the elevator and aileron to xtrem right up or xtrem right down it start to screech and the motor start to run????
Can anyone help me on these issue.
                            THANKS

When u say screech, u mean the servos start moving around erractically?
That would be called a glitch..

                              1. and 2. both seems to be forms of glitching..
Try moving ur TX further away from the RX..
Might be TX too near to the RX and try again..

Feigao RXs have a switch at the top or bottom (i forgot).
It's for switching the pulse shift of the RX.
One is NEG shift and one is POS shift, Neg for Hitec/Futaba
                              Pos for Sanwa/JR TXes..
U juz have to trial and error the switch til it works..
