    Spilled water on Customer

Anyone PartTime Waiter or once a Waiter here?

Anyone ever Accidently spilled water on a Customer?

    My Story.

I was doing my routes to refill water when this Lady asked me to get 7 new cups of water. when there are already 7 cups on the table.
she doesnt wants me to refill but want 7 new cups of water instade. i as a 3 days old waiter happily agreed to get her and got 7 new cups. to her.

    heres the Interesting part.

So i serve 6 cups and the last cup was juz to be serve to her topple on my tray and water spilled on to her dress. Yes i was shocked! totaly stun and didnt know what to do. i quickly apologized and got her tissue and my manager came.

She said What kind of service is this? Your waiter spilled water on me and walked off and left me here for 2 mins. (yes 2 mins. i cant juz snap my figures for the cloth/tissue to appear.) And y is your service so slow.? its Full House. why isnt the beacon bits served with the baked Potato? and she ASKED for a free deserts for all of her Friends. (yes she asked) even my manager said she is unreasonable. Thats not all.. After deserts was served. then bill was called. she said i'm not going to pay the service charge. I was thinking in my heart. Totaly shameless. Who cooked the Meal? it didnt drop from the sky cooked!

Felt bad. but.... what goes around comes around.

lucky you spilled only water, imagine what will this lady ask for if you accidentally spill a hot bowl of tom yum soup over her???

You didn't meant to in the first place, some customers just want to knock any opportunities that come across - typical "GIAN PENG" type.

Take it easy, this type of people won't go far

Just want to show off infront of her friends, that's all!

    My deepest sympathy with you

      Sebastian,
It's part of Life that you will meet demanding and very unreasonable people. Thank yourself you can get to reflect and that you are not like that.

      Here is my encounter.
I was having lunch with my expatriate friend in a Coffee house of ex-Marco Polo Hotel. Halfway through I saw a cockroach crawling on the posh carpet floor near where I was seated. I put my foot on it and squashed it. Leaving my foot on till I finished lunch.
When the waiter passed by, I discretely told him without my friend knowing.
Having finished lunch, I called for the Bill and to my surprised the Manager told me that it is on the House.
This is a very Positive Service Business Policy and I totally forgotten about the poor cockroach.
Unfortunagtely the Hotel decided to close for business and it is now a Posh Condo opposite Tanglin Mall.

      Cheers
      Vifo

        Sebastian,

Sorry to hear your plight, but when u are in service line, u just got to be more cautious.

I lost a $40K order recently in my job. While online w the customer, he requested to speak to my boss. When I am abt to put thru, my boss hint to me that he is not picking it up and want me to check what he want .... obviuosly, he wanted some discount. I gave my customer excuse tat my boss is having meeting and cant pick up the call. Only to find out days later that he felt offended and go for another brand instead U don want the same thing to happen to your restaurant else u will be out of job.

I had another nasty customer, he requested us to do some measurement for him. He will always sit in his Volvo in our office carpark. He will call the manager on the mobile and the manager will go right up to his face to pick up some sample for measurement. Did at the fastest speed and return the sample back to him. Thru out, he nv got off his car!

U gotto be flexible. don always have negative thots for nasty customer. Just to share that nasty customer recently gave me a $60K order and got the eyes of everyone in the company nearly popping out. I knew how to speak teochew and that nasty customer is a Teochew .... after a few chat using the same language, he no longer wait in his car nowadays. Instead, he came in the showroom to see me doing measurement and we had been joking most of the times now. Give everyone a chance and treat them sincerely thru your heart.
