A2ZCNC Upgrades for Sherline 5400/5410 MILL

Hi guys, for those who own a Sherline 5400/5410 or are intending to get it soon ( i know there are a few out there!), I've purchased some upgrades for it from WWW.A2ZCNC.COM. While trying to look for information regarding these upgrades, i've problems finding close up and clear pictures of them. Anyway, i've take lots of pictures and uploaded to my cnc blog: http://simplewords.genexis.net/

I've gotten in a total of 3 upgrades from them, headstock, x-extension
table and Y-extension base. I'll be writing and updating the site
whenever i find the time to do so. Do check back for updates. As of now,
i've done the first draft of the headstock and x-extension upgrade.
Please do let me know (via comments or shoutbox) what other information
is desired. I'll try my best to include them.

Cool, I need the headstock extension too. How much did you get it for? Where did you ship it in yourself?
      Cheers,

ya, shipped in myself. I have a stock sherline one, bought from mike. Can sell you that one if you want. No use getting the A2ZCNC one if you are not going toupgrade to their extended base.

            nice.

just curious, by placing the motor so much further, will the z-axis column be under stress ? I tried placing the motor further and i can feel the diff on the 2010.

the z-axis still moves smoothly as of now. Adjust the gib properly. Definitely there will be a trade off, but as of now, its still acceptable.

On the 2010 series, if you notice, there is avenue to adjust the "forward / backward alignment" in case there is excessive overhang. I didnt think of it till u jus mentioned, very likely the design of 2010 allow this important compensation.

                Cheers

                Mike
