ok many different thoughts on this one but the one thing that most people agree on is get the best one that you can afford.

most people here have gone for the 9CHP from futaba ..great TX I have one. simply and easy to program. but about $480 just the TX! no rx's at all.

or if that is out fo your price range then a somthing likne the new futaba 7ch is not too bad and a bit cheaper..not as easy to program but not too bad.

I have a 6ch futaba for sale too at $210 with two micro RX ..its not bad but cn be a bit difficult to program.

well thats all the futaba ones that I know ..JR you will have to get another persons opinion.

basicly if you want to use Collictive pitch heis you will need a computerised TX which is 6ch or more. but 6ch is a minimum normaly.

    cheers doug

If you can't decide what to get... then just use what you have.... ask Loyn... he is doing wonders with his planes with his nifty 4CH too...

Some got hold of the higher end Tx... and never got to use the added features...

6CH and above is useful if you are flying helis.
      huh

Yups, simple rule of the thumb, get the best TX u can afford if you
are planning on doing RC for life!!

Some pple dun outgrow their Futaba 9C!!
        9C can run almost anything!

I got a 9C from my first FP dragonfly til now..
And i'm sure it has all the features i will need..
From revo mixing, elevon mixing to remote gain n such..
i use for 9C for sims, slow stick, FP/CP helis and soon IFO!!

Cant agree more on the $ part of it, if you can , of cause try to get something that can last you for a long time. If you plan to stay on to this hobby.Other wise is best to buy according to your capability.

At the same time, the requirement for flying heli and plane is very much diff. I am a plane flyer and a simple 4 chr will keep you flying for some time. As what nic said, I have been using my old 4 chr system for long time from nitro to indoor and now to out door electric. Still happy with it anyway.....even I have just got myself a pre owned computer Tx....

              Hi ChRiS,
Just send you a PM and saw this thread here. First of all, would like to welcome you to the world of R/C. You are in the right track...daddyHobby got many expert and friendly pilots here. I learned lots of things from them too.

Just like you, I am new in this hobby and got myself a SpitFire. And learn how to fly from loyn. Oh man... you got a ME109, we can have a dogfight in the near future than. Looking forward to that day...Battle of Britain.

              Cheers...

                  ChRiS,
I am just started to learn how to fly too. I have already lost count how many times I crashed my Spitfire.

But, I never give up...Keep Flying...

                    That's normal.

I remembered that I took about 2 months before I could get my IFO fly high in the sky when I started in this hobby.

So you have to keep on trying.....Good luck to you!
