Office Politics

Well...

I was from environment that are politically free zone... and recently I join a department that is $@$@$#@$ political.

I was hired by A
B got hired by A's boss... to be A's new boss. A don't like B.

B made changes to the department, made me report to B, with A as my peer.

B is unhappy with A.

Since B is not getting much co-ordination from A, he started using my team to handle A's task. - A is furious, and started to ask "What game am I playing"

B's motive, I had to agree, since things are not moving.. and are urgent, he need to get it moving by hook or by crook... so he goes through me.

Now I am trap in the center...

Now what?

Man working with 2 bosses is never fun ..... especially with both of them is in opposite direction.... But looks like B is of high power than A..... so may be have to follow the top movement lor... they big what I think everywhere is the same.... the FXXXing big boss have all the say even when not right all the time.... as they determine our pay..... just dont be a hero.... they usually die first.....

Sorry cant help much..... just do some flying to release the work stree lor.... then hor you may feel better at the end of the day .... good luck and be happy ....

Agreeable... This is a normal/usual way of work environment. Just use army style lor.. Higher ranking ask u to do stuff... u do.

s long s u do your job professionally, no need to worry about A,B,C,D or E. know your stuff and work towards the interest of the company.

i m a result oriented person, in my opinion, anyone dont feel like cooperating and deliver results, should just leave the team...

Yar... A is no longer my boss.. but my peer...he ain't happy about this set up... even though the decision came from his new boss....

B knew about all these...he just goes.. "we wait and see..."

what to do... now it is to the extend that I help A.. I ganna blame by A for intruding... I don't help... he say "What game are you playing?"


Actually I reported to A only for 3 days... and B only join the company a day ahead of myself

I agree with Stuka. Your primary loyalty and interest should be with the company. Regardless of what you are ask to do so long as they are in the company interest just do it. If A is not happy, just explain to him that you are just doing your job. Or suggest to A and B that 3 of u need to sit down and trash things out. Failing that try to rope in B's boss, afterall this is not the army, there's no rank and file, all works for the company. If that's not possible or smart thing to do in your enviroment....well......time to bail out of that dept, as the job will not help your career building in the long run (difficult to do a good job in such enviroment). Worse case, it will leave a blotch in your records.

B's boss.. was A's boss.. and now he left the company.. working as a part timer..

Well.. I had a long chat with my boss (i.e. B). Well.. it is still "wait and see... " but it doesn't look that I need to wait that long now.

Somehow, I am glad I am reporting to B than A...

Yeah.. thanks to DH.. I can de-stress a little, even though I don't get time to fly... my T-Rex & Tx is still sitting on my window ledge.. and my planes are still in the store room. Never had such a long break for quite a long time now...
