G2 Installation Problem. PLEASE HELP!!

Recently I have gotten a Realflight G2. I was trying to install the progam into my Windows 2000 but to no avail.

OK, I have RE-INSTALLED the software and have updated the G2 as required on the site to the latest update (2.00.723) so I can install my G2 to my Windows 2000.

The error message comes out again as follows:
KEError 39842. Error 998 Copying File. Bytes read: -1, Bytes written: 0

Then it is :
KEError 32494. Please contact technical support if the problem persist.

Well, I figured that it is going to cost a bomb for me to call up Realflight in US (as I'm in Singapore) and being put on a queue which only god knows when it would be my turn.

I really need help, guys!

Have u tried sending ur config file to:-

RFSUPPORT@hobbico.com

I had problems with an msi board and ati graphics cards and emailed them for help. Came back within 3-5 days and a follow-up phone number to call.

Extracts from email:
"Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. did you install the USB Interlink drivers b4 u run the RF?
Coz i recall that I need to plug in the USB for detection, b4 running the software to authenticate the software's serial and the USB Interlink's serial.

The two serials have to match somehow, and it goes the same for any other Add on discs. All serials are tagged together, and will be registered together.

Lets play rf online once u set up everything.....I'm usually on at night, with hosting called "Singapore Heli Server"...normally i can host up to about 4-6players, and if I go to 8players, I get jittery response...

Tried emailing them yesterday, posted such questions on RR forum, but not much help. Wonder if it's my system. Well, for one, my Win2K is original to begin with. Though I know how to troubleshoot my system, but this problem has really questioned my knowledge.

I'll try to give them a call on Monday as I'll be leaving today for Malaysia over the weekend for a wedding dinner.

Will see how it goes and I'll post all updates here for all to read.

For this, I have not tried..... Wonder if it will work this way.

As instructed in the guide, it says that "the Interlink isn't required at this stage of installation". I will try it out after replying to your post.

I'll go online with you and/or anyone from Singapore to learn a trick or two, well, that's provided IF I get the setup done... Wonder if I really need a new system.... No money for such, that's why I didn't consider buying Reflex XTR.

I'm running on an old AMD 1800 (1.6ghz equiv) with crap graphics card...(no 3D, think it's only a Savage or Pro Savage with 16mb ram)

No problems except for some scenes that i run 3D terrain, i get extreme crappy frame rates....so normally i off 3D terrain to practise.

Win2k should not be an issue since the box states it's compatible..???

i think the problem lies either in the cdrom or the cd. you can try to wipe the cd clean from dust b4 inserting into the cdrom or you can use a cdrom cleaner to clean the lens.

Tried that.

Tried everything I can possibly think of. Nothing can help. It will just hang at 413.8mb.

Anyone knows how I can do the exchange? Tried writing to them as well, but they never seems to reply.

go back to NTC or where u've bought it lor.....

Or if u can show me your receipt or original interlink controller, or any proof of purchase, i dun mind duping my original installer for u to try.

Wei Young, thanks for your help but I'm not sure if the LITE version will be conpatible with mine. So I'll ask 9V for help here. Really appreicate your initiative!
