Hi guys,

Bukit Batok Aeromodelling Club would held a two day National Aeromodelling Championship event on 14-15 July 07

The public are welcome to join us for Funfly and Clinic on the first day-14 July 2007, frequency control will be available.

On the second day-15 July 2007, we will have a electric mini heli pylon race. This competition is open to all. Please kindly register your name (put down your name in this thread)

Update

Introduction
The competiton requires the R/C pilot to race their electric powered model helicopter by flying 10 laps around 2 pylons placed 80 metres apart. The competition tests the R/C pilot ability to fly his model helicopter fast and make quick turn around. Hence, competitor should use helicopters that posses these characteristics in order to win. The competitor should also hone their skills at making fast turn around as this is the part of the race that usually determines who is the winner.

Rules
1) The model helicopter must be powered by an electric motor controlled by an ESC with a maximum rating of 45A. The battery used must not exceed 12V.
2) The length of the rotor blades must not exceed 335mm. No metal rotor blades allowed.
3) The competitor is allowed to have a caller/helper.
4) The competitor must identify his model helicopter to the time keeper before commencing the race.
5) The timing starts when the signal is given and the model helicopter take off from the runway.
6) Each lap is considered complete when the model helicopter has flown 1 circular lap around the 2 pylons. The competitor must fly 10 laps after timing has started.
7) The timing stops when the model helicopter passes the finish line at the end of the 10th lap.
8) There may be up to a maximum of 3 helicopters racing at the same time, but timing will be taken individually.
9) A 10% time penalty of the final timing will be imposed for each time the model helicopter turns before the pylon.
10) The timing will be void if the model helicopter turns before the pylon for a total of 3 times.
11) The timing will be void if the model helicopter violates the "no flying" air space.
12) The competitor is given one more try if the model helicopter crashes during the race.
13) The organising committee has the right to disqualify any model helicopter that either do not meet the motor and battery restriction or is not air worthy.
14) The orgranising committee can disqualify any competitor found to be behaving with no respect for safety.
15) The top 6 competitors with the best timing will proceed on to the semi finals and the top 3 semi-finalist will proceed on to the finals.
16) The organising committee would not be responsible for any damage to the competitors' model, crashes, damages to any property and injury to anybody.

FYI, a 3S lipo is measured at 12.6V fully charged. So how???

2) The length of the rotor blades must not exceed 335mm. No metal rotor blades allowed.

Where does the measurement of blades measured from? Root to tip or End to end?
