Hi,
I'm new to CNC and was looking around for a community in Singapore. Sad to say, there isn't alot out there.
I'm glad I found this active forum. I'm currently looking for stepper motors and controller for my milling machine and it seems like you can't find anyone selling it in Singapore at a reasonable price.
Most likely, I'll ship it in myself. The set that I'll be getting is from Xylotex (http://www.xylotex.com/Econo4AxSpecial.htm).
Does anyone have other suggestions or sources for the stepper motors or drivers?

u can try rs components singapore.
I got mine for less than a hundred for a slightly smaller than a fist size stepper. (not too sure if that is expensive or reasonable)
free delievery.

I got mine from http://www.kelinginc.net/
The sell the Nema 23 size which is ard 280oz/in for US$49
Shippping is another US$50 for 3 pcs. End of day still cheaper than getting it locally :S

Hi all,
I also have the sherline. very keen to talk to you guys as I am also keen to go into CNC.
I make plastic models , RC gliders and electric planes and scale planes and RC ship.
I thought we have to buy the original fitting and stepper from sherline ?

U can try Winnie of swan hobby, they are the agent for sherline. but nowadays they are lesser into such equipment.

Hi Guys,
thanks for the comments and feedback. It seems like its still cheaper to get the stuff overseas despite the shipping cost.
I'll look for more information before getting getting the controller and motors. I'll post pictures and provide more information when I have my CNC setup ready.
Thanks guys

I agree, swan is so X. I got from USA authorised dealer for mail order for 50% of the price quoted.

Chuck,
Can you post a picture of your Sherline Mill? How much did it cost with shipping included?
What about accessories? Can you use those sold by Mike?
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm currently in the midst of setting up the machine and I am still waiting to purchase the CNC motors and controller. I'll post the picture of my machine setup once it is ready.
The machine (without the CNC motors and controller) is about SG$2290 with shipping.
I'm not sure if the machine can use the accessories sold by Mike as I am very new to machining and also I do not know what accessories what Mike is selling. You may wish to check with him directly.
