Quite interesting discussion when I was talking to a few friends online whom I didn't know were rc car fanatics... :L
Maybe I dunno how to appreciate RC car racing, but i discovered that they get their kick when they can pull off a fast corner....One even mentioned about how they felt when the blood rush to their brains as they approach a left handed chicane at almost top speed, and they even described the feeling they had when the car pulled through... :L
I know different people have different ways of having fun, but wonder why I dun have that kinda feeling when racing my cars previously......maybe that's why I'm flying rc helis now...
:freak:
I think you will also get the rush if you 100% hop up your car..... i.e. after paying $2000 or more on it... and going around a far tight corner of the circuit at 45mph..... knowing once you bang the car.. you going to loose a few hundreds........
Well, at least they wouldn't have to worry about the rotor blades chopping us up into pieces
this is a very interesting topic.
i have a high end nitro 1/10 car and had race a couple of times in the pass but i still enjoy having fun with my kakis on the race track. its actually the fun of being able to run the cars with a group of people that is fun .. for heli and planes there is no competition of any sort in singapore, thus cars are something to look forward to as there are monthly races!!!
if you really want to feel the rush try 1/8 cars.. in excess of 80km/h !!! on the long straight..

I think me also one who cannot appreciate r/c cars...never gotten any rush or shiok feeling even with 1/8...it is more of a fun thing compared to planes and heli..more of talking cock and racing to kill time...
when it comes to plane and heli, it is totally different...heli used to give me sweaty palms and weakness in the leg, after every flight, I feel as if I juz finished a gp exam...now plane give me the kick, even while it is on the ground picking up speed to take off, I can feel my heart beat, the feeling is not what words can describe...

Started with RC car, moved to FP micro heli, gave it up, switched to planes, and now back to large helis & CP micros....I still think Rc Heli gives the most thrill factor because every flight is a different experience...
Somehow, I cannot get the thrills with cars even though I'm a bloody big fan of F1. :) Tried road cars, buggys, MTs, but all macham no kick leh... :L
you are one guy hard to pleased hehe..
just like me...
play 1/10 nitro then fly micro heli then nitro heli now planes and just got my f5d plane for more speed !!!

anyone here tried fast bl on their car? i'm no refering to novak ss5800 cos its similar to a 11t brushed only.If yes what kind of combo/setup?
dunno never tried Bl on ep cars because they will never be more powerful then a Novarossi engine hehehehe

i've been reading on ppl using bl with lipo and seems that its the "in" thing now :) read from some thread that their bl is able to compete or better than the higher end RB engine nitros in terms of accelleration n mid end, but top end will loose out as they do not dare to gear higher for their system fearing it will kil their lipo cells. but for bl running on lipos, reaching 60mph doesn seem to be big problem.

btw, they have been using bl on 1/8 buggies, so in terms of power, i think bl is good enough too, just need to get the correct combinations

As long it is RC , it is fun and excitement. Started playing cars form 1/12 on road to 1/8 Buggy to 1/8 on road.
But nothing beats 1/8 on road man.The ultimate racing machine!
Doing heli and planes now.Have more time to spend with family while in this category.
What is the best way to get a JR Airskipper? :evil

If you run the car alone, it will be super bored, if you run it with a bunch of friend aimlessly, not too bad, but still bored.
Everyone will start with drag race I bet, after a while bored again.
Go to the track with a bunch of friends that is where the rush is. You may be able to drive around the track perfectly by yourself, but when you have someone chasing you or you chasing someone, trust me...you will forget to let go throttle....in the middle of a race with 5 to 6 cars and your engine dies......it will be a 100 meter dash to the car with all your might, pick it up pull the stupid starter with all your cow strength and just to continue the race..
I flew planes and helis for many years always wondering what thrill I can get from a 2 channel car...however recently deep dive into MT and buggy...I realise that there are actually alot there.
Heli setup is tough, so are cars, there are many variables like the shocks, gear, wheel angle, tow and camper angle to set in order for the car to run properly...
I hope I am not alone...my family thinks that I my obsess and to the point of crazy, can eat nitro and sleep on the track...
Having said that, I still love my planes and helis..

That guy must have been a poor driver then....hahahahaha. Anyway, mistakes can and do happen. It's just that it's better to happen in a controlled enviroment than in public roads.

Any one noes where to download the video of a guy make his nitro 1/10 go more than 100mph. I have seen it b4 but I want to watch it again. It was very funny when the car flew when he went over a small bump.
there will always a place in my heart somewhere for a buggy run or a 1/10 /18 run on the track with many good friends

Have not been racing after I pick up flying heli and planes, but the Rc racing blood still flows in me.
Rc brings back alot of fond memories.
My last feel of a an RC is racing 1/8 on road at PA.
Have anyone have a chance to play 1/10 offroad at the AMK track. Those days, you regularly get as much as 100 participants in a race, Watimate. :up

Ya man, I was racing with the Cat and then later the Kyosho Mid those days.
You know lah , once you are hook on car racing, sometimes you forget that you have a family. That is why I do flying.
The car poison is coming back , so looking for something which is clean and ZERO maintenance. :lip:
Still have a buggy, kyosho MP 7.7.....I think :confuse:
But leh jei leh when comes to cleaning, you know lah, I believe in keeping the car super clean for it to perform 100%.
i think it depend on individual bah. I started as slope gliding, then to sailing and to MT. I still think MT is more fun. At least i dont have to keep repairing. MT does need repair but lesser, and i find it interesting to jump the MT............
I don't get any adrenaline rush since I don't do much jumping and bashing.
But I do enjoy myself.. to me it is relaxing fun as compared to my planes and helis.
nic you need some jumps to make it more fun!!!!
nay... i am happy with those small jumps i did.... relaxing and fun.

Some races are held there on Sundays. There's a race next Sunday where some top class Thai drivers will be there. Race fee is $5 on weekdays. Think its $6 on weekends.

Yes it's electric. There's 2 race class, 1 for mod motors and 1 for 23T motors.
