Hi everyone,
I first posted this in RCtech and was advised to post it in this forum as well.
So anyway, I was thinking of setting up an RC club within NUS as it will allow us to:
1. get together and learn from fellow enthusiasts
2. get some CCA points
3. tap on school space and facilities
4. spread RC as a hobby
Basically, the tentative structure that I have come up with is as follows:
The club will welcome all RC hobbyists, regardless of whether they are into heli, aeroplanes or cars.
It will be divided into 2 wings - the air wing and the motoring wing
The air wing will comprise of all rc flyers. Preferably one person will head this wing and will appeal to NUS for airspace and time and then within the wing, the members will further divide it according to the member distribution.
The motoring wing will comprise of all rc drivers regardless of scale, ep/gp, onroad/offroad. Once again, we will appeal for space and time and then further subdivide amongst ourselves.
There are several reasons for this 'mixed' approach. One is so that we can attain critical mass to justify setting up the club. Furthermore, there is no point in denying any interested rc hobbyist membership just because of the type of RC hobby - that will run contrary to the purpose of setting up the club.
So far, I have garnered some response and would appreciate more from the rc hobbyists here.
So interested NUS students; please email me at u0503846@nus.edu.sg with your name, matric no., faculty and year and a short writeup of your RC interests.
Also, anyone who has useful information such as contacts within the Student Union or would like to help us get this club underway can also drop me a mail too.
Thanks and hope to hear from you guys.
P/s: I hope this was the right place to post this announcement
