My first CNC cutting

Did my first CNC'ing on a 3mm thick Aluminium

This part looks real simple but took me ard 3hrs right fr the beginning till the complete part

seem like the left hole needs a bit of adjustment.

yeah...bcos nv do pilot hole .... so learn fr mistake ...

The big hole also had some defects.... feed in too much at too fast a speed.

Overall is a satisfactory cut Nv do nv learn

One thing I learn from cutting this part, holding the part down itself is already some challenge

Yeah, do another round of CNC today for the same parts. Time used : 1.5 hrs instead Quality is much better with better speed and tooling used.

I took the pics with a NIKON D70!!!!

would like to know the diameter of your "side cutter" and where can i get one.
I went to those diy shop, can not find one for metal or the diameter is too big.

Initially I used a HSS 3mm End Mill. The cutting is ok.

Yesterday, I switched to Carbide Type 4mm End Mill. It can take deeper cut w/o problem thus reducing the overall cutting time.
