yeah I belive that he was getting pressure from other dealers here in singapore. they complain to GWS and then GWS tell him to not undercut the other competitions.
Not good as I thought we had a free trade here in singaproe but I know that all co' do this ....price fixing.
His service is still the best I think. and he normaly will give discounts anyway ( we he has to me in the past
)

It states on his site 10% off for orders above $50... so most planes cost more now.
I haven't got any planes from him.. just some spares...
now.. I need to decide T-Rex or another plane to replace my dying E-starter...

If you want my advice ...call him or email him and ask for a price....his service is great and you wont be disapointed!
he had heaps of spares last time I went there for the helis. more then SHS even!Comment

I am sad to see the site did not reflect actual price. If you walk into Champion Hobby, you know they are selling GWS kit at $73 whereas rotor selling at around $89
We all know rotor give good service compare to champion but I bet ppl will still go to champion despite the poor altitude and unethical business technic. Reason - they save $16 by doing so ... and mind you $16 is a lot .....
WTF! GWS should be curbing those Fxxk altitude GWS dealer like champion Hobby rather than GWS dealer who is willing to sacrifice profit and top up with good service.
Lousy handling in this case for GWS!

yeah I agree mike ..I am sure that if Champion was advertising the prices that they were getting things at. he too would be the same boat .....GWS would call them into line. its just that he was/ doesnt advertise the low prices ..he dosnent even have prices on his products some times!!
But I must say that I dont know the full story .... only parts.

Yes.. in fact Champ removed their prices on some of their planes before Pips did... (C43@$110), also the prices on their Futaba gyros.....

Yup.. I have to agree Mr Seow is ok... but well I am one of those who are pure lazy to ask the price and hates those shops that I need to bargain or I ganna "ko-tok"... so I tend to go to those that display "NETT" and provide good service.
Hey Tele...you mean Pips actually allows us to pick up items from his store? hehe if can get more discount by doing so... I don't mind...

walking into one of them is like walking into one of those Electrical/Household departmental stores... and the other like one of the HDB electrical shop/lucky plaza shops....
- Fixed price+service with a smile.. but very expensive.
- Cheap but.....

I am not too sure that pips would appriciate me offering extra discounts!! hahahhaha
but he is very friendly and has some awsome planes in the hanger. and It was great to pick and choose what I needed ..not the cheapest way to shop as you always go .."oh and give me one of them too ..." or ...." ok ok I will take 4 of them" hahahah
I dont think he makes it any cheaper if you pick up but he is a great guy just to sit and chat to

I was at Champion during my lunch time.
Wanted to get the Submarine but it was sold and he said he not bring it in again.
I missed the boat.
Last weekend was at harbour front and went into a Nikko shop on 2nd storey and saw they selling RC submarine there. Got 2 models but both also damn expensive!!!Comment

Having spoken to 2 parties, i've learnt that Champion Chan + 2 other hobby shops works very hard to fight for 'dealership' from the manufacturers...... Their main aim initially was to be the 'SOLE' dealer of a product of that brand which was well-received in the local market. Chan even went to the extent of sub-tending a local distributor by making a direct visit to the maufacturer's native country to 'snatch' selling rights...
It's kinda cool considering the 'Big4 LHS' never did sell products of the same brand[!edit spelling error] until not too long ago.
If that's case with pips, then i'll support pips by getting stuff i'd get from champion from pips instead.
Dun ask me how i know. It just pays to be NICE to EVERYONE sometimes.

Luckily Chan did not succeed else when a beginner ask for E starter he may pass off the formosa or BN2 as "trainer" Don ask me how I know but isnt Chan famous in selling something that don suit you?
