GS motors (for my voyager) any good ?

Anyone heard anything about the GS motors ? they seem to have a suitable one for my voyager with a pretty high KV and are pretty cheap-140 at jet

Thinking it's about half price compared to a hacker and i'm not keen on having carbon dust swirling around my helicopter and dirtying my dorm room everytime i go fly it...

Anyway if anyone's heard anything do let me know, meanwhile got to go start packing up my hobby stuff urgh !

    thanks !

I'm using the GS motor with a Pheonix 60....seems okay with spooling so far...no RF intereference, nothing....cannot say too much about flying with it coz my Eco8 is not fully up yet.

Still lacking batteries! As Frank had recommended, I'm intending to run it with 10cell sub-c packs. Will let you know how it goes once my bird is ready for take off...

tried a GS. very powerful. just didn't have enough flights on it yet for a meaningful comparision to hacker or astro 020.

9vdxn : sounds good perhaps i'll get that while i'm around is the output shaft the same diameter as a 540 with a D flat ?

which one did you use , waycool ? the 4200 KV one seems to suit the voyager with a 16 t pinion

DYeo, Yeah....same size as a 540 for the shaft, with a D flat indent.
But normally in music terms, people like to call it a C# rather than Db. Heheheh... *lame joke*

            3S2p 3S 3p = $$$$$$$$$
No $$$ = 10cell pack.....Moreover, recent batches of lipos a bit unstable...everyone keeps complaining that their cells keep bloating.

oh no a music joke haha

yeah i dont think the lipos at this power scale are worth the investment as yet.

Sub C cells give much better performance for sure maybe i'm just old fashioned but i've always believed in sub C's haha.

Now just wondering if it was worth my while going to re config all my side by side packs around for my voyager hmmmm

The GS motor sounds tempting especially at 140 think i'll be going to get one maybe today or tomorrow.

Should i go CC or hacker though for esc ?
i was thinking i'd get CC so i can get a usb linker for both.

maybe i just cheapskate or something, but i'll buy a cc45. last time my cc p10 blew, i emailed them and a week plus later, a new p10 arrived at my doorstep. then just post them back the faulty p10 and that's it.

second reason: I got cc45 governor mode to work on my voyager! works great. no more throttle curve!

So far I've been using CC stuff for my planes, and never had a problem with them. Tech support for CC i heard is also extremely good... With a USB link, you can actually flash your CC chips to have the latest firmwares, so you can be sure you'll have the latest versions...

Only have experience with CC brushless Escs...so can't really comment much on other brands...

                        hey 9vdxn

                        nice meeting you today.

All my planes are on brushed haha i'm just old fashioned...
I'm leaning towards the CC as mack can provide me with one and i can get a linker for both the voy and the hornet.

Quick quick get your GS motor running i'm very interested in how it works. After flying that one pack at aiss just now my brushes are almost gone looks like tomorrow need to get more argh or i'll get my paint job cover back and have no brushes to fly with.

less than 8 flights , 2 pairs of brushes gone goodness me i've never seen brushes go so fast. These JR brushes must be made of the softest possible conductive material or something. Going to try some trinity or kawada ones tomorrow , gave doug my last set of spare brushes in the F103.
